💬 Real Stories from Real Interviews #1: “Tell Me Something You Don’t Want Us to Know About You”

Some interview questions catch you completely off guard — and that’s exactly the point.
One of the most unique questions I’ve ever been asked was:
👉 “Tell me something you don’t want us to know about you.”

Now, that’s not in any textbook or interview prep guide. It’s designed to test how you react when there’s no script — your honesty, sense of humor, and ability to stay composed.

My response?
🗣️ “My height.”

The room burst into laughter, and the interviewer said, “That’s a great answer — I might use that myself.”

So why did this work so well? Because it showed three things interviewers love to see:

âś… Quick thinking: It showed I could handle pressure with composure.
âś… Personality: Humor builds instant connection and shows emotional intelligence.
âś… Boundaries: It revealed confidence without oversharing or getting personal.

This question isn’t about revealing dark secrets; it’s about seeing how comfortable you are being yourself. A confident candidate can handle unexpected moments with authenticity.

đź’ˇ InterviewFlo Tip:
When faced with surprise questions, don’t panic. Smile, take a second, and show your personality. The goal isn’t perfection — it’s connection.
